Betting Preview

The #8 ranked Texas A&M Aggies will visit #9 ranked Tennessee Volunteers Saturday afternoon. Both teams are still undefeated with perfect 5-0 records for the season, but the Vols are 2-2 ATS while Texas A&M is 4-1 ATS. The over/under is evenly split at 2-2 for Tennessee while three of the Aggies’ have gone under the total and one over.

The Vols won 34-31 at Georgia last week. Georgia scored a touchdown with 12 second left but Jauan Jennings pulled down a 43-yard Hail Mary pass as time expired to earn the Volunteers the victory. It was not the first time this season Tennessee had to make a late comeback and surely the team must run out of luck sooner or later. They held Georgia to just 211 yards in the air with one interception and also forced two fumbles and they’ve allowed only 23 points per game for the season, ranking them 46th overall. Tennessee’s defense has forced 10 turnovers so far this season.

Texas A&M defeated South Carolina 24-13 last week. The defense allowed just one touchdown against a very weak South Carolina offense and concedes an average of 15.4 points per game, ranking them 12th overall. Trayveon Williams rushed for 98 yards off 14 carries and the freshman has already accumulated 487 yards with four touchdowns. The Aggies offense has been very productive overall in averaging 39.2 points per game, ranking them 32nd overall.

The teams have not faced each other since 2005 so I consider previous history irrelevant for this Tennessee vs. Texas A&M Free Pick Preview.
