Betting Preview
The Cleveland Indians will try to move one step closer to their first American League Central title since 2007 as they host the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. Cleveland won the opener of this three-game set 2-1 last night when Brandon Guyer singled in a run with two outs at the bottom of the ninth to clinch the victory.
In Wednesday’s game we’ll see Ian Kennedy (11-9, 3.60 ERA) vs. Corey Kluber (17-9, 3.12) on the mound.
Kluber is 9-1 with a 2.28 ERA in his last 13 starts having pitched himself into position to possibly win his second Cy Young Award in three years. Kluber is 1-1 with a 2.50 ERA in three starts against the Royals this season and 6-6 with a 3.23 ERA in 17 career meetings.
Kennedy hasn’t lost a game since July 25 and he’s 5-0 with a 2.14 ERA since then. In four starts against the Indians this year Kennedy is 2-2 with a 6.00 ERA. He tossed seven scoreless innings at Cleveland on May 7 but surrendered seven runs on six hits – four homers – over 4 1/3 innings in the last meeting.
