Duke vs. Miami - History Favors The Hurricanes

The Duke Blue Devils are back home following back-to-back road losses at Florida State and Louisville. They’re asked to cover 9 points as they host the Miami-Florida Hurricanes at Cameron Indoor Stadium Saturday night. A win won’t come easy for Duke if history is any indication of which way this game is going.

The Hurricanes have won each of the last two matchups in the series straight up, and Miami-Florida is 4-2 against Duke under coach Jim Larranaga. They’re 7-0-1 ATS in the last eight meetings at Duke and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games as a road underdog of 7.0-12.5.

Duke guard Grayson Allen has always been a distraction, and he was stripped of his captaincy after tripping an opponent in an opponent when the Blue Devils took on Elon on December 21. The incident led to a suspension and him missing the 89-75 loss to Virginia Tech on New Year’s Eve. Duke has a losing record since the incident, and 1-6 ATS in its last seven games overall.

The Blue Devils might like the fact that Miami-Florida is coming off its worst effort of the season. The Hurricanes allowed Wake Forest to shoot 57.7 percent from the field in a 96-79 loss on Wednesday, but they’re 7-0 ATS in their last seven games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous game.
